🤖 Automation Operations Specialist
Join MakesYouLocal as Automation Operations Specialist: help tools run smoothly, improve workflows, and empower teams worldwide — no coding needed.
Want to work with digital tools and automations in an international e-commerce agency?
At MakesYouLocal, we help ambitious e-commerce brands grow across borders through consulting, customer service, translations, and operational support. To support our internal systems and workflows, we are now looking for an Automation Operations Specialist to help ensure that our tools are used well, run reliably, and create real value in day-to-day work.
This is a hands-on role close to real operations. You will work with modern tools and automations mainly through configuration, workflows, and third-party systems rather than traditional software development. The role suits someone with a bachelor’s background who enjoys working across operations, systems, and people, and who finds motivation in making tools and processes work reliably in everyday practice.
If you enjoy understanding how people work, spotting friction in processes, and improving how tools are used in practice, this role is likely a very good fit.
The role – close to people and systems
As our new Automation Operations Specialist, you will be part of our Technology & Infrastructure team, working at the intersection between daily operations and internal tools, with a strong focus on stability, clarity, and practical use rather than experimentation or creative development.
Your main responsibility is to make sure our systems actually work for the people using them.
You will spend a lot of time speaking with colleagues across teams, gathering feedback, making small adjustments to automations and workflows, and helping others understand how to use our tools correctly and confidently.
We mainly work with tools such as Dixa, Make.com, Google Sheets, and Asana, and most improvements happen through configuration, logic, and structure rather than code.
You will work closely with the Automation & AI Lead and help translate operational needs into practical system behaviour.
Here’s what you’ll be doing
Talk to teams across the organisation to understand how tools and automations work in daily practice
Make small adjustments to workflows, automations, and system behaviour based on feedback
Support roll-outs of new features and internal setups
Act as a go-to person for operational questions related to internal systems
Investigate issues and try to solve them yourself, or diagnose and escalate when needed
Maintain simple documentation and communicate changes clearly
Identify recurring manual work and suggest improvements
Help ensure that tools like Dixa and Make are used in a consistent and reliable way
This is not a role focused on building complex systems from scratch. It is about making existing systems work better for real people.
What we’re looking for
We imagine this role being a strong match for someone early in their career or recently graduated from a bachelor’s programme, who enjoys operational responsibility and wants to build deep understanding of how systems are used in practice.
You
Have experience from operations, customer service, e-commerce, implementation, or similar roles, either from work, internships, or student roles
Are comfortable working with systems and workflows used in daily operations
Are curious about how tools connect and how processes can be improved
Enjoy speaking with different stakeholders and helping others adopt new ways of working
Are proactive, detail-oriented, and not afraid to ask questions
Speak and write fluent English
You do not need to be a developer, and you are not expected to write code. Experience with no-code or low-code tools such as Make, Zapier, or similar is an advantage, but not a requirement.
What it’s like working with us
We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. You will join an international, informal, and ambitious company where people support each other, share knowledge, and take ownership.
You will work closely with colleagues across teams and markets in a culture built on trust, responsibility, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll get
Full-time position in the Technology & Infrastructure team, with clear scope and expectations and room to grow as your experience increases.
Full onboarding and training in our tools and ways of working
Close collaboration and daily support from the Automation & AI Lead
Clear expectations, regular feedback, and room to grow with the role
📍 Location: Copenhagen, Denmark
🕐 Type: Full-time (or part-time until graduation in the summer, followed by full-time)
